Rich, my latest client, found a beautiful property in Prior Lake, MN on Spring Lake. He has been laboring over it for the last 2 years one careful at the time.
Being a contractor specializing in asbestos, lead & mold abatement, he is very aware of and sensitive to environmental issues. During renovation of his own home he used many materials that he was able to recover from his previous projects, as well as incorporate the latest innovations in green construction.
Some examples of his environmentally-conscious efforts are: Installing grass lawn on some of the roofs, radiant in-floor heat, icynene insulation in the walls and roof.
One of his ideas was to preserve a beautiful original house ceiling, and incorporate it in to his new home, creating a very sheik and unique ceiling.
My job was to redesign the existing plans to span the second floor of the new structure over the original house. This was achieved by using 45’ long steel beams and steel posts in combination with wood beams and posts.
